Angelo Surmelis
Let's just get this out right at the beginning.... I LOVE all things HOME. I have since I was a kid. At five I started dragging furniture around my parents small Chicago apartment in order to change things up since leaning and pushing on the walls didn't seam to work. At nine I was using my paper route money to buy wallpaper, molding and a saw. That later would become a chair rail and duck wallpaper in my bedroom. Don't ask. It was my country kitchen phase --- in my bedroom! A design geek was born.
It's safe to say that I have never stopped designing, building, wallpapering and all other sorts of home doings since. I truly believe that the way you feel about your home and your space, can change your life! I've seen it happen to countless families across the country and I've seen it in my own. Along the way in my world of design, a friend in the TV world suggested I do a show. I resisted for about two years until he and his wife wore me down. Since then I've done more than 10 series and specials on networks like TLC, LIFETIME, STYLE & HGTV and have appeared on places like The TODAY Show, CNN, TYRA, and countless other morning shows. All of this has been with the idea of helping people redefine their lives through design without spending a fortune - it is one of my favorite things to do! There is power in the way you live.

B. Smith
B. Smith is a pioneer in the lifestyle category whose talents and expertise span a wide range of specialties. Heralded by The New York Daily News, "B. Smith is one of the most important African American style mavens of all time". At the forefront of a trans cultural movement, she possesses a unique ability to merge cultures through a shared appreciation for style. Smith regularly offers advice to television and radio audiences, reaching others as an author, and has also earned kudos as a restaurateur and home dcor authority. Whether as a personality or lifestyle brand, consumers know they can trust B. Smith. A native of Pennsylvania, B. (Barbara) Smith began her career as a fashion model, going on to grace the covers of 15 magazines including Mademoiselle, becoming the first African-American woman on its cover in July 1976. Today her face can be seen on Betty Crocker and Pillsbury products and, in addition to a recent TV commercial for Mercedes-Benz, she currently serves as spokesperson for Colgate Palmolive Oxy products and in the past, McCormick's Lawry seasonings. A respected expert in affordable-yet-elegant living, B. Smith brings style to everything she does. For nearly a decade, Smith hosted the nationally syndicated/cable lifestyle television show "B. Smith with Style," that aired on NBC stations in more than 90% of the U.S. and in 40 countries. Her effervescent personality and creative ideas also impact audiences via her appearances on programs such as "Good Morning America," "The Today Show" and "The View." Bob Mackie
The amazing scope of Bob Mackies fashion, home furnishings and entertainment career is enormous and continues to expand. Mackies reputation was built designing for and dressing the most glamorous and charismatic women in the world. For years, his designs have graced the most famous stars in the entertainment industry. And now, his sportswear collection, signature fragrance, collectible Barbie dolls, luggage, home furnishings and framed fashion and costume illustrations, are being enjoyed by everyone. His close attention to detail, as embodied in the design, choice of fabric, use of color, and opulent embellishment, is legendary. When a woman chooses a Mackie, she dares to be noticed! It is for this reason, that Grammy Award winning artist P!nk collaborated with Mackie to design her costumes for her worldwide Funhouse Tour in 2009. In fact, one of the costumes he designed was showcased in P!nks amazing Glitter In the Air performance at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony. In 2008, Mackie and longtime friend Cher, teamed up again for her hugely successful three year run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Jill Rosenwald
Born in NYC, Jill got her groovy crafty start at summer camp designing macrame wall hangings and leather bracelets. After getting caught by NYC undercover cops for illegally selling on the streets -- Jill went legit and showed her ceramics at the ACC craft market in West Springfield, MA. She hit it big with her first client, Neiman Marcus. The operation was just Jill"... using the pay phone to run the ops. But as orders began to grow she knew she needed her own phone, and so moved into the first studio in Somerville. After becoming a sensation as a licensed designer she signed 7 agreements in quick succession to design dinnerware, rugs, pillows and more. Including an agreement with Surya with whom she began her popular collection of Fallon rugs. Our current studio arrived in 2008. Abuzz with creative minds that share passion and resources - our creative spirit fills with new ideas daily! In 2009, Jill started her blog In Flagrante where she shares her style, inspiration and bold voice.

Noah Packard
Ever since growing up in a geodesic dome in Michigan, I have been surrounded with creativity. After receiving a BFA in Furniture Design from Kendall College of Art and Design in '05, I packed a bag and moved to NYC. My style is a culmination of work and life experience, from my traditional training at Kendall College of Art & Design, living in Vladimir Kagan's attic studio in Nantucket, to the corporate cultures of S.O.M and Steelcase. Every piece I create expresses my love of a texture or material, functionality, or an interpretation of a specific aesthetic... finding inspiration in everyday sights, objects, and experiences.

Paule Marrot
French engraver, painter, and textile artist Paule Marrot (1902-1987). Early in her career, Marrot shifted her emphasis from painting to textiles to create expressive patterns from the 1920s through the 1950s. Marrot's bold use of flowers, color and patterns reflect a compositionally modernist style classically associated with the Art Deco movement. Marrot's artistic influences include the expressive writings of Marcel Proust, as evident in her work Du cot de chez Swann, based on Proust's book In Search of Lost Time. "You paint with your heart the flowers of the fields, love, youth, the seasons, everything that is wonderful in life," Andre Arbus said to Paule Marrot when the designer was awarded the Legion d'Honneur. All her fabric and wallpaper designs had charming stories to tell and revealed her love of nature, art, travel, birds, gardens, animals and people. Surya is proud to offer Paule Marrot designs as an authorized ditributor of Paule Marrot Editions.
