| About LifeStyles
Furniture in Moline, IL LifeStyles Furniture is a modern, contemporary furniture store located at 3735 Avenue of the Cities in Moline, IL and serves the entire Quad Cities area. In 1990, the company started out selling furniture under the name of Day Dreams Furniture. Located a couple of stores down in a smaller space from its current location today, Day Dreams Furniture was the first specialty futon furniture store in the Quad Cities area. The company was founded by former furniture professionals from the waterbed industry who brought with them a great deal of knowledge and experience in specialty sleep products and wood furniture and casegoods. The company would offer a full line of wood futon frames, cotton futon mattresses, tables, accessories and fabric slip coverings. For several years they worked on helping to educate local customers about futon furniture and the value and benefits these products could offer any home. The company enjoyed great success and created themselves a very unique niche in the way of furniture offerings different from other stores in the area. |
![]() Day Dreams Furniture - Furniture Expansion Several years into the business it was decided that while futon furniture was gaining in popularity the store needed to be more diversified with its product offerings. With feedback from its loyal local customers and the furniture experience of its ownership it was decided to expand the store's furniture selection into home office and recliners. The store brought in several lines and finally decided on Techline® modular home office furniture and Ekornes® Stressless® recliners from Norway as new product lines for the store. These new furniture lines met with much success from Day Dreams customers who enjoyed the modern stylish look of contemporary furniture. Day Dreams Furniture found that it was soon becoming quite successful with modern furniture and that it may be time to consider a change in the store's direction as well as expanding into a larger retail space. |
![]() Introducing Modern Furniture - LifeStyles Furniture by Day Dreams In 1996, new retail space was secured to help with the store's expansion. Day Dreams Furniture was able to locate space a few doors down that was almost double the size of its current showroom which would give it plenty of room to bring in new lines of modern furniture. Day Dreams Furniture was a great name for a store selling specialty sleep products but didn't seem to be the right fit for the direction that the store was taking. After much consideration it was decided to change the name to LifeStyles Furniture by Day Dreams. The new company name expanded on the new lines of modern furniture that were now being offered. Among the new brands were Omnia® Leather Furniture, Elite® Modern Furniture and Amisco®. With these new lines of furniture LifeStyles Furniture by Day Dreams was becoming more focused on modern, contemporary furniture and was beginning to move to high-end lines of furniture. |

Internet Stores - LifeStyles FurnitureIn 1998, a new medium for introducing yourself to others was fast becoming popular in many circles. The internet was fresh and new in the late 90's and companies soon came to find customers who were shopping on the world wide web. LifeStyles Furniture found itself caught up in the information explosion as well and decided to branch out several online stores including an online store that could represent its current furniture lines to customers anywhere in the United States. Only a handful of online stores existed and LifeStyles Furniture began several specialty futon furniture and platform bed stores online as well which met with great success. The term "click and mortar" started to be used to describe stores that had a real brick and mortar store you could walk in and visit but could also use your computer to visit the store online. LifeStyles Furniture found that having a physical store allowed them to have a better understanding of products that could be offered to online customers and provide these customers with answers to common questions that other customers would have when visiting the showroom. It was also around this time the store decided to use the name LifeStyles Furniture exclusively and the name Day Dreams was retired. |
![]() New Ownership - Growth & Expansion In 2007, LifeStyles Furniture was purchased from the retiring owner of the company by a corporation of investors and furniture professionals. Led by the company's then General Manager, one of his first steps was to expand the crowded showroom and in late 2007 created an additional showroom space by expanding into the building behind the store. This new showroom would feature futon furniture and bedroom sets and allowed the main showroom more space to expand into additional modern furniture categories. New lines of contemporary furniture included Skovby and Idealsedia dining room furniture. Also new modern artwork such as paintings, acrylic sculptures and metal wall hangings throughout the store. |
