Stressless recliners are made in Norway by Ekornes. Stressless leather chairs and ottomans are available in 2-3 sizes per style of chair and are available in 4 grades of leather with many color options for both the chairs and wood bases.
History of Ekornes Stressless Recliners
Introduced in 1971, Stressless recliners are designed to meet your body's need for movement and support. A patented glide system follows your movements offering you comfort in any position. The Plus TM system designed into every Stressless leather chair provides proper neck and lumbar support. Finally people can read and watch TV leaning back in a recliner as the headrest of the recliner moves forward when reclined to keep your head in the proper viewing position.
In 2001 Stressless and the Ekornes collection began to be produced in matching styles. This created an opportunity for combining reclining and stationary furniture but in designs that match both recliners and sofas. Now Stressless recliners are offered with matching Stressless sofas, loveseats, chairs and sectionals. Ekornes is also still offered in several matching stationary designs but the popularity and function of leather Stressless motion furniture has now made it possible for this furniture to be offered in more styles and designs than ever before. The perfect recliner is waiting just for you.
2005 saw the introduction of low-back Stressless sofas. These leather sofas
created a new trend in furniture for Ekornes which offers furniture that moves
with you while you're sitting much like a recliner. So many stationary sofas
stay in place and you're often having to find pillows or blankets to to get
comfortable because the back of the sofa is angled in an uncomfortable position.
With Stressless low-back sofas the sofa adjusts itself to you provided optimal
comfort in any position the same way Stressless chairs do.
Many Stressless recliners, sofas, loveseats and sectionals are in stock and can be delivered quickly. Additional leather colors and finishes are also available from Norway in these styles for customers who are looking for a specific color to better coordinate with their home decor.
